Repaints usually go into the relevant bus's Texture\Repaints folder under Vehicles. Check the archive structure and the location of its .cti file; a repaint only appears for the vehicle it was made for.
Maps often require separate vehicles, scenery objects, or Steam DLCs. Check the add-on page for requirements before installing. If objects or tiles are missing, verify that each required dependency is installed.
Copy the vehicle folder into the OMSI 2 Vehicles directory and preserve the archive's internal folder structure. Install any required sounds, models, or repaints using the included instructions.

If the game crashes on startup or reports missing objects, inspect OMSI 2's Logfile.txt. The first errors near the end of the file often identify the missing file or incorrect path. Check one change at a time to isolate the cause.
Before major map or vehicle updates, copy the affected folder and your own settings. You can then restore the previous state if an update is broken or incompatible.
